Subject: libpdl-stats-perl: FTBFS on arm*
We have the following bug reported to the Debian package of PDL-Stats (https://bugs.debian.org/752026): It doesn't seem to be a bug in the packaging, so you may want to take a look. Thanks! All build logs at https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=libpdl-stats-perl&suite=unstable https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php?pkg=libpdl-stats-perl ------8<-----------8<-----------8<-----------8<-----------8<----- Package: libpdl-stats-perl Version: 0.6.5-1 Severity: serious This package fails to build on armel and armhf, but 0.6.2-1 built successfully in the past. It was removed from testing a year ago because of this. (The mips and s390x builds are missing too, but that's due to #735623 in pdl.) Test Summary Report ------------------- t/stats_kmeans.t (Wstat: 65280 Tests: 3 Failed: 0) Non-zero exit status: 255 Parse errors: No plan found in TAP output -- Niko Tyni ntyni@debian.org ------8<-----------8<-----------8<-----------8<-----------8<----- Thanks for considering, gregor herrmann, Debian Perl Group
Thanks for the report! I have not seen this particular test fail before. I don't have access to armel or armhf systems, which makes it hard for me to debug. Do you have a system that I can use to test this? Maggie On 2014-09-14 10:43:44, GREGOA wrote: Show quoted text

Sorry, I don't. Maybe the GCC Copile Farm can be useful: https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/CompileFarm Or you find someone with a Raspberry Pi :) Cheers, gregor -- .''`. Edmund Grimley Evans has addedd some additional findings at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=752026#12 which might be interesting for you as well. Cheers, gregor

That was a great clue! Thanks! Edmund was definitely right about the -1 byte type bug. I'll put in a fix soon. Maggie On 2014-12-09 10:34:59, GREGOA wrote: Show quoted text

I just put out a new dev release 0.6.5_1 on cpan that addressed the -1 byte type issue. Could you please test if the new version fixes the bug?

I applied the diff between 0.6.5 and 0.6.5_1 to the unpacked Debian source before building it, and it built.

Thanks, uploaded as 0.6.5.1-1 to Debian/unstable (after verifying with qemubuilder/armhf). Let's keep an eye on https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=libpdl-stats-perl Cheers, gregor -- .''`.
