Subject: Geo::Ip 1.43 Test failure when GeoIP.dat is missing

Hi there, this is not an error in Geo::IP. I think your homebrew installation is not correct. Geo::IP detects your geoip-c-api but it is not working hence the error. You should run brew reinstall geoip brew reinstall geoipupdate and retry. Have a nice day! Am Sa 13. Sep 2014, 02:33:44, gabor@szabgab.com schrieb: Show quoted text

Thanks for the quick reply. Actually the problem was that the .dat file was missing. Maybe the test, or even the Makefile.PL could check it and report it. Gabor On Sat, Sep 13, 2014 at 2:50 PM, Boris Zentner via RT < bug-Geo-IP@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

Hi, Yes, the test reports the missing dat file and in your case 'brew reinstall geoipupdate’ should install the file. I think your geoid-c-api was not installed correctly. Homebrew has used GeoIPCountry.dat instead of GeoIP.dat by mistake. This bug is already fixed. You should run ‘brew reinstall geoipupdate’ to install the fixed version. I think that was the reason for your failure. Show quoted text

I managed to install it after manually fetching a copy of GeoIP.dat from the MaxMind server. Gabor
