Subject: Cookbook: Getopt::Long has auto_help and auto_version
Just want to point out (you might also want to mention it in the cookbook), Getopt::Long also has auto_help (which uses pod2usage) as well as auto_version (taking version from package's $VERSION) to reduce boilerplate. Regards, Steven

Thanks for the info, while similarity to Getop::Long's interface was a goal (I still have lot's of scripts using it) the main reason I wanted to create Getopt::Alt was to give my self a way to go beyond simple command line arguments. This is why I have support for sub-command and other options that Getopt::Long doesn't have (it's also a more PBP style interface).
