Subject: Rename module (casing)?
I know this is perhaps late and probably not very important, but most other modules use WebService:: (capital S) instead of Webservice. In fact, your module is the only one on CPAN using the lowercase S :) So, perhaps rename the module to use uppercase S? Just a suggestion. Reference: http://blogs.perl.org/users/steven_haryanto/2014/07/net-vs-www-vs-webservice.html Regards, Steven
I think this makes sense - I noticed it a while back too. I hesitated to rename it to avoid changing documentation and confusing users. I would be happy to do this if you think it is worthwhile, but would probably publish to both names for a deprecation period at least. Thanks for the response. Certainly, if that's not too much of a trouble. Anything that improves the consistency and quality of CPAN is good for me. Regards, Steven
BTW, I've done the same thing too in a relatively recent past (Data::Unixish::ansi -> Data::Unixish::ANSI). IIRC, you cannot have both modules on PAUSE (two modules with the same name and difference only in casing). You'll need to upload the new dist, delete the old dist, wait for 3 days, and then force reindex on PAUSE. It is rather cumbersome :)
Right - well, I will have to inform our users first then. Thanks for the heads up. All best, Alex On Wed Jul 16 09:39:13 2014, SHARYANTO wrote: Show quoted text
