Subject: Invalid version format (non-numeric data) at /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/Encode.pm line 12.

From: Michael Kogan <michael.kogan [...] gmx.net>
Hello, I'd like to report following bug: After the perl update to 5.20 I get following output from applications using Encode: ----------------------- Invalid version format (non-numeric data) at /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/Encode.pm line 12. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/Encode.pm line 12. ---------------------- This seems to be related with http://search.cpan.org/~rjbs/perl-5.20.0/pod/perldelta.pod#Locale_decimal_point_character_no_longer_leaks_outside_of_use%C2%A0locale_scope I hope, that I'm writing to the correct adress, otherwise please forgive the disturbance. Using Arch Linux x86_64, perl 5.20.0, Encode.pm v 2.60 2014/04/29. Thanks, Michael
This was most likely caused due to an interaction between perl 5.20 and Gtk2/Gtk3/Wx, and hence is unlikely to signify a bug in Encode.

Yes, as I understand now, this is most probably a duplicate of https://rt.perl.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=122105 and should be closed. 2014-06-25 22:11 GMT+02:00 Torsten Schoenfeld via RT <bug-Encode@rt.cpan.org Show quoted text
