Subject: Very slow file opening over WAN
If the configuration file is located on a very slow disk, e.g. a CIFS/NFS share from a machine a very long way away, the opening of the file can be extremely slow, some times in excess of 20 seconds. The issue appears to be the file tests which can be very slow. -- It's Not Magic, It's Work!
