Windows Server 2012 64 bit Strawberry Perl 64bit : 5.18.2.2-64bit perl -v => This is perl 5, version 18, subversion 2 (v5.18.2) built for MSWin32-x64-multi-thread Hi, I had an error installing this version of perl on Windows Server 2012, but found a workaround which may help other users. The problem sounds similar to an existing bug tracker report "Bug #95176 for Perl-Dist-Strawberry: error installing 64 bit version on Windows Server 2008 R2". I tried installing to D:\strawberry\ and the installer reached "relocating" before rolling back. In Windows 2012 there is a right click option "troubleshooting", which disables a windows version test for compatibility, then lets the installer run under the option "test". After perl had installed (tested with terminal window and perl -v) I then saved the windows settings in the troubleshooter and now everything seems ok. Kevin, thanks for the workaround. I have redesigned MSI a bit for coming 5.20 release. If you still have a opportunity to experiment on Win2012 could you please download http://strawberryperl.com/beta/strawberry-perl-5.19.11.4-64bit.msi a test whether there is the same issue? In case of lasting troubles please send a log produced by: c:\anydir> msiexec /l*vx install.log /i strawberry-perl-5.19.11.4-64bit.msi Thanks for your time -- kmx

Hi kmx, Sorry for the delay. I Installed the beta version you mentioned below on Windows Server 2008 service pack 2 over the top of the existing 5.10 strawberry perl and it was ok. Just right click, install. However as this wasn't a fresh windows install it could be that the previous setting is still active. At least it didn't break anything further, so the previous workaround should also be ok for 5.19. Regards Kevin Worley Show quoted text
