Subject: Issue with timeouts
Firstly thank you for writing and maintaining this module, we've recently started using it in production. So far there's just been one issue I wanted to report. If there is a drop in communication between the FTPS server and the client the client appears to hang blocking indefinitely until the process is manually killed. A colleague has modified the FTPSSL.pm file attached between lines 2356 and 2374 to include a timeout which makes the module behave more like net ftp and drop the connection correctly if there is a drop in communication during the initial connection.

Thank you for the patch. I had run into this myself on a few occasions but never had the time to try and track down the cause. I'm in the middle of adding some new functionality. So I'll be sure to include your patch in the next release. Curtis On Tue May 06 12:32:50 2014, https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id?id=AItOawk4owzS0zaHaFWu4XxcCNGOPlh6ru-l058 wrote: Show quoted text

Sorry for the delay. I've finally released v0.24 and it includes your patch below. I wasn't in a rush since you said you had already implemented this patch for yourself. It should show up on CPAN inside the next several hours or so. (v0.24) But I do have a question. Did you ever have this issue on a data connection? I was just wondering if I should plan on making the same changes there in a future release. I haven't done it so far since I've never seen this problem happening on a data channel.
