Subject: Don't hardcode gcc
Since FreeBSD 10.0 gcc is not anymore part of the base system, but instead clang is shipped. This means that "gcc" should not be used anymore. Better to use "cc", which works for both gcc and clang. See http://www.cpantesters.org/cpan/report/5129274a-70c8-11e3-b39a-eeece0bfc7aa for a sample report. Regards, Slaven

Hi, Thanks for catching that. I'm not sure if this library supports installation on FreeBSD without gcc <http://www.physionet.org/physiotools/wfdb-freebsd-quick-start.shtml>. This seems to be an upstream bug, so perhaps it would be best to make a patch for them. I think I have isolated it, so I'll try to contact the authors later this week.
