Dear Authors: Martin and Juan Jose, I thank you very much for your effort to publish the perl module Email-Send-SMTP-Gmail. I simply love it :) There is, however, a little bug that bothers me - a missing date field in the email header. Below you can see the the message that the mail server inserts into the email header: X-Amavis-Alert: BAD HEADER SECTION, Missing required header field: "Date" It complicates things a lot as some email clients like Thunderbird sort the message with the default date of the year 1970 way down the list of email messages. And I need it badly to properly and effectively communicate with my chemistry students sending them some homework assignments in attachment. I know Perl a bit but the module looks to complex for me. Could you help me please with this problem? Thank you in advance! Hello. Thank you for your report. A new release of the package has been created and soon it will be available at CPAN. The Date field is now added into the header using the localtime of the PC in where the script runs. Best Regards, JJ On Tue Apr 15 02:01:49 2014, narcyz.knap@wp.pl wrote: Show quoted text

Hi Juan, Thank you so much for such a prompt answer. Just tested your upgrade and it worked nearly just fine except it did not seem to take into account the Daylight Saving Time. I ventured to add a couple of lines to fix the problem. Feel free to use this humble modification - I'd be flattered :) use Email::Date::Format qw(email_date); ... my $date_header = email_date(); $self->{sender}->datasend("Date: " . $date_header . "\n"); Full module with the above modifications marked with "# Narciso" attached to this email. Thank you so much again. I can send my students their homework assignment now :) Kindest regards and warm greetings from Poland!!! Hello. Done. Your email address has been changed (new release will be available very soon). What's fair is fair. You have helped to improve this module, so you're one of the authors! Thank you! JJ On Tue Apr 15 16:00:32 2014, narcyz.knap@wp.pl wrote: Show quoted text
