Subject: Unnecessary escaping of 'F' and '.'
Lines 76 and 77 from Writer.pm force the escaping of non-special characters 'F' and '.': '.' => "\\'2e", 'F' => "\\'46", If there is no reason for this, these two lines should be deleted in order to produce cleaner RTF. Hope this helps, Dan Dascalescu

[guest - Tue Jan 4 20:52:14 2005]: Look likes there is a reason for escaping F and . "because when they're line-initial (or alone on a line), some mailers eat them or freak out.". I guess that's a safe practice but maybe it should be controllable via an option, which perhaps should default to OFF. After all, this is a rare mailer bug/peculiarity which is not the object of an RTF Writer.

Oh, and BTW, lines 76 and 77 aren't the only one controlling this option (sorry). There are a bunch of s/// statements but I'll leave that to the author. Hope that helps, Dan
