In the Git era, providing a link to the original developer repository is almost a requirement.
The documentation of Module::Build should help new (and old) authors to follow this best practice.
The basic example in Module::Build::Authoring should use meta_merge to provide a link to a source repository and to a bugtracker (rt.cpan.org).
