Need a way to check the merged.dmp file too, since some older taxids have been merged/replaced with new taxids (due to misspellings/changes in classification, etc.). As is, older taxids are not found and no taxonomic information can be retrieved for them. -------------------------------------------------------------- Terri M. You can always create your own names.dmp, nodes.dmp and GI<->taxon_id mappings and feed them to the modules. Bio::LITE::Taxonomy::NCBI doesn't know (and I think this is correct approach) about taxonomy versions... It is up to you to provide a version that matches your data (either an 'official' one from NCBI or a custom one with merged entries).
