Subject: | PARI() fails with special scalars |
# perl -MMath::Pari=PARI -le 'my $a = "123"; print PARI($a); $a =~ /(\d+)/; print PARI($1);'
123
Variable in sv2pari is not of known type at -e line 1.
If PARI() is feed a special variable like $1, it breaks. I think getmagic is missing somewhere. A work around is:
# perl -MMath::Pari=PARI -le 'my $a = "123"; print PARI($a); $a =~ /(\d+)/; print PARI($1."");'
123
123
However, that slows everything needlessly down. The bug is critical for Math::BigInt::Pari, since its _new() function gets a scalar and feeds it to PARI() and thus sometimes fails.
Best wishes,
Tels
