Subject: Can't install Strawberry Perl on Drive D instead of Drive C

I'm trying to install 32-bit Strawberry Perl 6.14.3.1 using the MSI installer. My OS is: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP 1. (64-bit Operating System) I don't have enough space to install it on drive C (the os disk), so I'm trying to install it on D:\strawberry\ instead. But every time I do this the installer rolls it back and says the installation failed! (Saying Strawberry Perl Setup Wizard ended prematurely) It leaves behind a d:\strawberry folder with only one file in it (perl1.reloc.txt.new), which contains 2 lines: D:\strawberry\ perl\lib\Config.pm:doublebackslash Is there any way to get around this issue? Could you please try to run the installation via this command: c:\anydir> msiexec /l*vx install.log /i strawberry-perl-5.18.2.1-32bit.msi Currently the only workaround for you is to get ZIP distribution - download e.g. http://strawberryperl.com/download/5.18.2.1/strawberry-perl-5.18.2.1-32bit.zip - unzip it to e.g. d:\strawberry\ - run d:\strawberry\relocation.pl.bat - run d:\strawberry\update_env.pl.bat - reboot (not necessary) -- kmx
MSI installer was redesigned in 5.20.x series. Please try latest strawberry perl 5.20.1.1. If no new response appears here I will close this ticked 2 weeks from now.
