Subject: Inconsistent version numbers
Starlink-AST-0.02 perl, v5.8.2 built for i686-linux-thread-multi Makefile.PL hardcodes the version at 0.2; AST.pm has 0.1. This causes a problem during load time, e.g. during make test: # Tried to require 'Starlink::AST'. # Error: Starlink::AST object version 0.02 does not match bootstrap parameter 0.01 at /proj/axaf/pkgs/perl-5.8.2/lib/5.8.2/i686-linux-thread-multi/DynaLoader.pm line 249.
Sorry about that. Should be fixed in v0.03 (which is on its way to CPAN as I write this). I took the opportunity to clean up some other things at the same time. The problem with version numbers is that the distribution includes the core Starlink::AST module and the plotting modules. It seems wrong to upgrade the version number in Starlink::AST the module when a patch is released for Starlink::AST::PGPLOT but XS gets very upset if the module number and XS version number are different.
