I'll get a new release out (probably today) which fixes this. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Actually, based on the relatively few failures, I'm not going to release a new version until the next scheduled release (March). But the next release will not test the pod files unless the RELEASE_TESTING environment variable is set (which is the standard way of doing this). I thought I'd done that before, but obviously not (and I don't pay attention to the pod test files much). Thanks for the report

Oh, too bad. Means that there will continue to be pointless failures from cpansmokers, and those of us who use CI systems will need to keep workarounds like this around for a few months: https://github.com/theory/dist-zilla-localetextdomain/compare/d32854a856...34b6cd8226 Best, David
If I've introduced a new problem with 3.28, I'm definitely willing to fix it by sending out a new release. But I don't see that that is the case. The pod.t and pod_coverage.t test files are the same ones that have been there for years. I admit that they're not the best (and I've definitely changed them for the next release), but I don't really see anything in 3.28 that would cause problems that hasn't been in there for at least a couple years (and that's the reason I'm not rushing out a new release). If I'm missing something, please enlighten me and I'll be happy to ship a new release sooner.

I dunno. Just that these tests did not appear to fail in 3.27. No idea why. D
I released a new version yesterday to resolve a different issue, but it also corrects this problem.

Great, thank you! D
