Subject: XK country code
Will the fips added XK code be incorporated at some time? http://geonames.wordpress.com/2010/03/08/xk-country-code-for-kosovo/ Geonames data has it under this temporary code Thanks.
FIPS is no longer being supported, have a look here http://search.cpan.org/~kimryan/Locale-SubCountry-1.62/lib/Locale/SubCountry.pm#FIPS10_4_code Not sure there is any point in updating FIPS data as it is obsolete.
I may have worded this incorrectly, XK is not a valid country code actually, fips has nothing to do with it, it's actually unofficial ISO country code used by geonames, nothing to do with FIPS It may have been late that night when I wrote the question, apologies. Is there any sub country data for it? I could add it as a country, but it really needs some districts in it to work with this module. Also, I'm a bit wary of putting unofficial data in. I could add it and someone else could ask to have it removed. Would really prefer to use official ISO standards. Regards, Kim
not sure if there is subcountry data for it, I was just syncing some data from geonames with locale::subcountry and then noticed it didn't have that two letter code, but no worries, this is pretty minor and yes I agree probably best not to incorporate something thats not official yet :) feel free to close this ticket, thanks! No approved ISO data for XK country code. Can look at this again if any updates to the ISO standard.
