Folks, When go to http://strawberryperl.com/, and click on the link for the 64-bit "Recommended Stable" version (advertised on the site as version 5.18.1.1) I get version 5.14.4. I claim this since when I type perl -V, the first line of the output states "Summary of my perl5 (revision 5 version 14 subversion 4) configuration: " Aaron Chesir Aaron Chesir MITRE 200 Valley Road Suite 303 Mount Arlington, NJ 07856 W: (973) 398-5468 C: (908) 380-5798 "Ignorance is Bliss, but Knowledge is Power!"

KMX, It was my error. I had Cygwin installed on my Windows laptop (so that I can use all the UNIX-type commands and scripting). It turns out that Cygwin has a built-in perl, which happens to be version 5.14.4. I changed my PATH to point to the Strawberry Perl 5.18.1.1 (64-bit), and now it's working fine.
