Subject: Latest version number is smaller than first CPAN version number
Hi, I noticed in your Changes file that your releases have been: 0.087 2013-07-26 0.086 2013-07-19 0.85 2013-06-30 This causes a problem for some CPAN tools, as the first release you did still has the highest version number. Eg if someone went to backpan, they might pick up your first release rather than the most recent one. You could fix this by making your next release have version number 0.851 or 0.90 or 0.900 Cheers, Neil
Hi Neil, I read Dan Golden's article (see below) and realized I should rethink my versioning, but I didn't consider what I was doing from that angle - I will change it to a higher number than the first verion with the next release. http://www.dagolden.com/index.php/369/version-numbers-should-be-boring/ Thanks, William On Fri Aug 02 03:08:45 2013, NEILB wrote: Show quoted text

If you're thinking of changing your version number, here are my thoughts on the subject too :-) http://neilb.org/2013/07/16/version-numbers.html
Neil, Thanks - I found that easy to understand. As I'm fairly close numerically to 1.0, I just upload a new version as 0.851. It also includes your the Changes file you gave with #87542. Thanks, William On Fri Aug 09 09:00:03 2013, NEILB wrote: Show quoted text

Issue was that I had changed version in a way to make future releases smaller numerically than the initial release. 2013-08-11 - Uploaded version 0.851 which should resolve this issue.
