I like to have my templates in files that end with a '.tt' extension, so that vim can colour them for me and I can search for them in my filesystem. You previously suggested some code that I use in my controller class. I think the facility may be of interest to other people so I've attached a patch to add and use a template_extension config variable.
If you decide to apply the patch, I'll make sure the docs get updated :)
