Is there any reason that version.pm distribution doesn't install
version::vpp unless requested specifically?
Because version.pm tries to load the xs version in the runtime and
falls back to version::vpp, there seems no harm installing
version::vpp always, regardless of whether the user has a C compiler
or not.
It is odd and confusing that version::vpp is indexed as part of the
version-0.9902.tar.gz on PAUSE, but installing it with cpan/cpanm
(cpanm version::vpp) doesn't get it installed in many cases.
Am I missing something? Is it a reasonable request to always install
version::vpp?
