Subject: Inconsistent version output
$ corelist Test::Simple Data for 2012-12-18 Test::Simple was first released with perl v5.6.2 $ corelist Test Data for 2012-12-18 Test was first released with perl 5.00405 Why the different formats for perl versions?
Perl didn't start to present its versions as a three-part tuple until 5.5.640 — you can see this evidenced in perlhist. corelist sticks to this tradition, basically, normalizing only versions numerically greater than or equal to 5.006 -- rjbs
