Subject: No results for words with german Umlauts

Hi, currently I’am experimenting with Lingua-DE-Wortschatz-1.27. I think I’ve found a bug with German Umlauts. If I issue a request e.g. to the baseform service for “Ärzte” or “Bücher” I get a warning and no results back. However, if search for these words of the Wortschatz Web interface I get some results. In the warning I get it seems that the submitted word will be urlencoded and that the Wordschatz Webservice Isn’t prepared to handle urlencoded queries. Do you have encountered the problem already? Is it a problem on the Lingua-DE-Wortschatz side, e.g. wrongly encoding for the SOAP load? Or a problem on the Wortschatz side, e.g. SOAP load isn’t properly decoded? Can you do something about it? Or do you know a workaround? Best regards, Thomas Hoppe

It's a problem on the Lingua-DE-Wortschatz side. As a quick workaround change line 10 of wsws.pl from my @args=map {encode("utf8",$_)} @ARGV; to my @args=map {decode("utf8",$_)} @ARGV;
