Subject: clarification of the license
Hi, during packaging review of this module I found MIT license in the file lib/Error/Simple.pm. Is it typo or should I change the license of module to "same as Perl" and MIT? Thank you, Marcela

this is not a typo. lib/Error/Simple.pm was written from scratch by some of the module's new maintainers, and was placed under the MIT/X11 licence in order to avoid the problematic licensing of dual GPLv1+ and Artistic (see http://perlbuzz.com/2010/06/artistic-license-20-makes-dual-license-boilerplate-unnecessary.html ), and people may use it under these terms. The rest of the distribution's contents however (and the distribution as a whole) is still under GPLv1-and-above or Artistic 1.0. This was clarified in Error-0.17019 which was just uploaded to the CPAN. So it's safe to put the entire perl-Error distribution under GPLv1+-and-artistic. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish
