Subject: Test hangs with perl-ldap-0.46..48
With recent versions of Net::LDAP I see hanging tests in Net-LDAP-Server-Test on my smokers. Tested with 5.16 and bleadperl. Downgrading to MARSCHAP/perl-ldap-0.44.tar.gz is a workaround. It would be cool if the tests could be rewritten to fail instead of hanging. Let me know if you need further informations. Thanks&&Regards,

Can you be a bit more specific? Which tests exactly? The perl-ldap ones? If you can point the difference ion behaviour to the difference between v0.44 & v0.45, the changes must have happened between those two versions. Looking at the Changes I can not see anything specifically related to the test suite. So I am a bit at a loss without further information. BTW, the changes affecting code between v0.44 & v0.45 are relatively small, so it will definitely help if you can point me to the change responsible for the hangs. /me ignores. :) I have uploaded Net::LDAP::Server::Test 0.15 to CPAN, which tries to workaround the hang with alarm(). This is a known issue in the ::Server::Test module (as noted in the Changes and POD), but like Peter Marschall, it is unclear to me why Net::LDAP would trigger the issue. See https://github.com/karpet/net-ldap-server-test/commit/7830a113f7619bafff3396a4d09d7b47e7307c06 It resolves the issue for me; let me know if it does not work for you.
