Subject: CLDR character normalization
http://unicode.org/repos/cldr- tmp/trunk/diff/supplemental/character_fallback_substitutions.html pull this into Locales.pm (obviously JS part also) something along the lines of normalize_characters().

? have [numf] return NaN when not given a number ? ? [infin] is numf() but returns infinity symbols when not given a number ?
