Current releases are not thread safe, at the very least: * the error stack is global * the log file handle is global * image file limits are global Sub-modules: * JPEG uses static variables for capturing some blocks * TIFFLIB isn't thread safe * GIFLIB 4 isn't thread safe * T1Lib isn't thread safe
