Subject: Need HvNAMEUTF8_get or HvNAMEUTF8, if possible
Recent perls have HvNAMEUTF8 (5.16 and up). Not sure whether that's backportable, but if so, that would be absolutely great! If you need me to try to make a patch, then please let me know and I'll try to make time. --Steffen

For older perls, it would always have to return 0. You probably already knew that.

Well, it's possible to backport the macro, however, it'll only ever return 0 as before its introduction, the utf8-ness wasn't stored. If that's what's desired, I can add it, though I doubt it'll be useful ;-) Show quoted text

In general, patches -- even incomplete ones -- are very much appreciated. Especially test cases are extremely helpful. I'm happy to do all the portability stuff. BTW, I'm just about to push most of my CPAN modules to github, so you can clone the repo for Devel::PPPort from here: https://github.com/mhx/Devel-PPPort Cheers, Marcus
