Subject: please extend perl docs to reflect #1616
Just wasted time wondering why I'm not getting a result when there is no ANSWER section. A little hint in the docs would have helped quite a bit.
I'm sorry to hear that. But in the documentation for Net::DNS::Resolver::search and Net::DNS::Resolver::query, it says: Returns a "Net::DNS::Packet" object, or "undef" if no answers were found. If you need to examine the response packet whether it contains any answers or not, use the send() method instead. Is that not clear enough? What part of the documentation would you have wanted to be better? It was of course my fault. I was misled by the fact that you do "use Net::DNS;", but then actually use "Net::DNS::Resolver" which made me look first at the perldoc of Net::DNS which also looked like the perldoc for resolving stuff. :*) perldoc-wise it would probably be a good idea to refactor stuff somewhat to a more common format, ie. put the contents of Net::DNS into Net::DNS::Recipes or Net::DNS::Cookbook and then just leave a short TOC in Net::DNS. Just my two cents. No pun intended.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip. Closing ticket.
