Subject: Embarrasing and awkward record numbers
One thing that prevents me from using this module is that it is possible for it to encode potentially embarrasing identifiers. See the encodings for: 420145 16148785 13767342778 It's unlikely that my current application project will get to 13 billion records counting upward (420,145 is pretty likely though). However, I'd like to have randomly generated record IDs encoded with something like this. It's unlikely that I'll pick up that particular one, but based on experience generating confirmation numbers for credit receipts (a completely different project that didn't use this either) where we did something like this, it is quite likely that one will generate a dozen or so of these a year and it only takes one offended customer to get management excited about this sort of thing. My target audience for my current project would probably become apoplectic. Anyway, I don't know if that really affects your applications at all, but I'm sure someone on Hiveminder owns: http://hiveminder.com/task/FUCK They may or may not be pleased about that.
