Subject: please delete this creepy library
This library is creepy. Let's not try to make gender identity an interesting thing to track and publish. That's what this library is doing. I hope that when described like that, the fact that this library is creepy becomes clear. Please delete this distribution from the CPAN. -- rjbs
I agree with rjbs, I ask SHARYANTO to voluntarily remove this module. While it seems to have been made in earnestness, in the current environment a code-accessible list of female CPAN authors enables creepy, harassing software. It will be come a lightning rod. In contrast, have a look at This Is What A Computer Scientist Looks Like. http://www.flickr.com/groups/whatacomputerscientistlookslike/pool/ A *voluntary* and *non-code* visualization of women in CS. Something very much like that could be made for Perl, but I would suggest it NOT be done in haste. There is a very fine line between supportive and creepy when it comes to highlighting vulnerable groups in homogenous societies. If you want to know how to help and walk this line, let's talk about it. schwern@pobox.com
