Subject: Word_with_underscore should not be emphasized
Right now, this text: var_one and var_two probably _should not_ be emphasized will become this HTML when translated using Markdent::Simple::Document: var<em>one and var</em>two probably <em>should not</em> be emphasized Compare this with Text::Markdown's output: var_one and var_two probably <em>should not</em> be emphasized
Everything I can find online tells me that for original markdown, these underscores _should_ be treated as emphasis. I'm thinking of implementing GitHub-flavored markdown as a dialect, which addresses this and some other issues.
The latest release includes a GitHub dialect that implements this, along with some other GitHub-flavored Markdown bits.
