If ack uses a pager by default (e.g. if «--pager=less» is set in ~/.ackrc) the grep results are not usable (they include some output from the pager). Adding «--nopager» to ack's invocation fixes the problem.

Thanks for the bug report. This is fixed in release 0.0204.
