Subject: has_better_auto_install false positives
The 'has_better_auto_install' metric has many false positives. 2436 are currently listed at http://cpants.charsbar.org/dist/shortcoming?metric=has_better_auto_install Most of those distributions do not even use Module::Install, so this is false positive. The CPANTS Game is currently broken as this metric is marked neither is_extra or is_experimental. -- Olivier Mengué - http://perlresume.org/DOLMEN
I took a random dist, ACH-0.01.tar.gz, off the first page. It uses EU::MM. I ran M-C-A 0.86-TRIAL-2 against it and as expected, it calculated the kwalitee indicator correctly. I verified with the debugger that the analyser returns early in Module::CPANTS::Kwalitee::BrokenInstaller line 21 because the M::I file does not exist. The problem must be somewhere else. charsbar?

The result of cpants_lint.pl is the same here. I'm afraid this is partly because the current server is loaded too much and fails to complete the scripts properly. I'm planning to migrate some of the services to another server with more memory next month, so please be patient for a while.

Currently it's only 460 and I verified several of them, they do use M::I. So I think this problem was resolved. -- Alexandr Ciornii, http://chorny.net
