Subject: | Install ignoring cpan's mbuildpl_arg: install_base=~/local |
I have a shell account where I don't have root access, so I install
everything into a ~/local/ tree.
cpan is set up with "o conf" to do this, with mbuildpl_arg being
"install_base=~/local".
When I tried "cpan Text::Aspell", it gave me this in the Makefile:
INSTALLPRIVLIB = /home/rking/local/lib/perl
DESTINSTALLPRIVLIB = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLPRIVLIB)
INSTALLSITELIB = /home/rking/local/lib/perl
DESTINSTALLSITELIB = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLSITELIB)
INSTALLVENDORLIB = /home/rking/local/lib/perl
DESTINSTALLVENDORLIB = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLVENDORLIB)
INSTALLARCHLIB = /home/rking/local/lib/perl/i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi
DESTINSTALLARCHLIB = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLARCHLIB)
INSTALLSITEARCH = /home/rking/local/lib/perl/i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi
DESTINSTALLSITEARCH = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLSITEARCH)
INSTALLVENDORARCH =
/home/rking/local/lib/perl/i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi
DESTINSTALLVENDORARCH = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLVENDORARCH)
INSTALLBIN = /usr/bin
DESTINSTALLBIN = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLBIN)
INSTALLSITEBIN = /usr/local/bin
DESTINSTALLSITEBIN = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLSITEBIN)
INSTALLVENDORBIN = /usr/bin
DESTINSTALLVENDORBIN = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLVENDORBIN)
INSTALLSCRIPT = /usr/bin
DESTINSTALLSCRIPT = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLSCRIPT)
INSTALLSITESCRIPT = /usr/local/bin
DESTINSTALLSITESCRIPT = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLSITESCRIPT)
INSTALLVENDORSCRIPT = /usr/bin
DESTINSTALLVENDORSCRIPT = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLVENDORSCRIPT)
INSTALLMAN1DIR = /home/rking/local/man/man1
DESTINSTALLMAN1DIR = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLMAN1DIR)
INSTALLSITEMAN1DIR = /usr/local/man/man1
DESTINSTALLSITEMAN1DIR = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLSITEMAN1DIR)
INSTALLVENDORMAN1DIR = /usr/share/man/man1
DESTINSTALLVENDORMAN1DIR = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLVENDORMAN1DIR)
INSTALLMAN3DIR = /home/rking/local/man3
DESTINSTALLMAN3DIR = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLMAN3DIR)
INSTALLSITEMAN3DIR = /usr/local/man/man3
DESTINSTALLSITEMAN3DIR = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLSITEMAN3DIR)
INSTALLVENDORMAN3DIR = /usr/share/man/man3
DESTINSTALLVENDORMAN3DIR = $(DESTDIR)$(INSTALLVENDORMAN3DIR)
Basically, man?/ dirs should be pointing into /home/rking/local/ instead.
I don't see anything goofy in Makefile.PL, but then again I don't know
the ExtUtils::MakeMaker system well enough to understand why it's
building the Makefile without respect for mbuildpl_arg on that step.
Thanks!!
