Subject: Net-SSLeay does not respect user flags
Date: Sun, 01 Apr 2012 23:52:13 +0200
To: bug-Net-SSLeay [...] rt.cpan.org
From: Thomas Sachau <tommy [...] gentoo.org>
The package seems to hardcode "-O2 -g" for CFLAGS and "usr/lib" for the libdir instead of respecting user $CFLAGS var and using abi specific libdir. This results in a failure, e.g. when one wants to add -m32 to the CFLAGS to be able to compile a 32bit package on a 64bit system (which would also require "/usr/lib32" instead of "usr/lib" as libdir. I accept that '-O2 -g' is hardcoded for Unix compilation, but I dont believe the library search paths are: Im pretty sure they come from the installed perl data. I dont propose to change the '-O2 -g' unless you can show a use case that makes that necessary. Cheers.
Nothing more heard, so I shall assume resolved.
