Subject: perl5.14.2 Failed test 'Warnings and Carpings mixed, asked only for like carpings'
The only non-standard thing I did was installing a dev release of Sub::Uplevel (0.23_03) since the Sub::Uplevel 0.22 failed a test. Building and testing Test-Warn-0.23 cp Warn.pm blib/lib/Test/Warn.pm Manifying blib/man3/Test::Warn.3 PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /opt/perlbrew/perls/perl-5.14.2/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t t/1.t ............... ok # Failed test 'Warnings and Carpings mixed, asked only for like carpings' # at t/carped.t line 44. # STDERR is: # ^[[30m^[[42m^[[30m^[[41m# Failed test at t/carped.t line 43.^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found warning: Warning 1 at t/carped.t line 13.^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found carped warning: Carping 2 at t/carped.t line 14.^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found carped warning: Carping 3 at t/carped.t line 15.^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found warning: Warning 4 at t/carped.t line 16.^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# expected to find carped warning: (?^:1)^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# expected to find carped warning: (?^:2)^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# expected to find carped warning: (?^:3)^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# expected to find carped warning: (?^:4)^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m # not: # ^[[30m^[[42m^[[30m^[[41m/#\s+Failed\ test.*?\n?.*?at\ t\/carped\.t line 43.*\n?/^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found warning: Warning 1 at t/carped.t line 13.^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found carped warning: Carping 2 at t/carped.t line 14^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found carped warning: Carping 3 at t/carped.t line 15^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# found warning: Warning 4 at t/carped.t line 16.^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# expected to find carped warning: (?^:1)^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m# expected to find carped warning: (?^:2)^[[0m # ^[[30m^[[41m^[[0m
I contacted dagolden if Sub::Uplevel could have anything to do with my problem but apparently that is not the case. He did however mention that there seem to be color codes in my STDERR output.

Does Test::Warn 0.23_01 solve your problem? If no, which version of Carp did you use? -- Alexandr Ciornii, http://chorny.net
