Subject: | Doesn't seem to be possible to "install a script" |
I was just reading about PETDANCE's app script, and thought I'd give it a go.
I fired up the cpan shell and typed
Show quoted text
cpan>install ack
And was told "Don't be silly, you can't install daniel bosold ;-)"
Which was an entertaining error message, but didn't help me.
I realised there would like be some modules in the ack distribution, and I could look them
up on search.cpan.org, and install one of those. But I figured there must be a way to
say "I want to install a script called 'ack'".
Well, if there is, I couldn't find it :-)
So I ended up doing an install on App::Ack
