Subject: Undeclared dependency on above.pm
As per subject. Here is a grep on the whole distro for the string "above". There are use statements but no declaration in Build.PL or META.yml. Please declare your prerequisites, it makes automated installations, testing, and packaging much easier. Thanks && Regards,
Sorry I didn't see this ticket! So above.pm is included _in_ the UR installation. It's written by us. I presume it needs to go one of two directions: make it independent, or give it a different name. The intent is to do the former, but it needs some API changes before it's really ready for general usage. Did you have trouble installing UR with some sort of error about finding "above"? Thanks for the ticket... Scott On Mon Sep 19 02:21:20 2011, ANDK wrote: Show quoted text

Sorry, I don't remember. I do have ideas how it came to the bug report but as more than half a year and several releases have gone by since then I guess it is better to bury the history and concentrate on development. It seems that it is still true that you're using above.pm but not declaring it, so this is potentially still a bug even when it does not have adverse effects at the moment because you do declare UR as a prereq. If I declare it as a prereq for UR, bit it's includes _inside_ of the UR tgz, won't it fail to install? Packages don't list their own contents as dependencies, right? On Apr 30, 2012, at 3:25 PM, "Andreas Koenig via RT" <bug-Genome@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

Right. But did you notice that this ticket is in the queue 'Genome'? -- andreas
