WISHLIST - homedir() function
It would be nice to have a homedir() function, which on Unix would return '~' but on Windows would return catpath($ENV{HOMEDRIVE},$ENV{HOMEPATH}) etc.

Speaking as a user of File::Spec, no it wouldn't. Besides, there is
