Subject: Conflicting license information
Some of the source code files have the BSD license at the top, however the README file and documentation at the end of SimpleServer.pm state that the library is available under the same terms as perl. It is not clear if those files with BSD license text are available under perl's license, nor what license the files with no copyright header have been released under. I'm aware this seems pedantic, but I'm trying to correctly construct the copyright file for a debian package.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll consult with my colleagues and make sure that the next release resolves this problem. On 5 August 2011 17:40, Ben Webb via RT <bug-Net-Z3950-SimpleServer@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

Having now grepped through the source code, I can't find any mention of BSD or Berkeley, and all mentions of licen* state "same terms as Perl". Which files did you see BSD licensing in? On 5 August 2011 17:44, Mike Taylor via RT <bug-Net-Z3950-SimpleServer@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

The files SimpleServer.pm, GRS1.pm and SimpleServer.xs have BSD style license text in the header, just below the copyright notice.

Ah, got you -- that is the old YAZ licence (which, yes, is BSD-like, and has since been abandoned in favour of true BSD for our software that used to be released under it). Thanks, I'll look into it some more. On 5 August 2011 20:24, Ben Webb via RT <bug-Net-Z3950-SimpleServer@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text
