What version of LWP::UserAgent do you have installed? Does upgrading to the latest solve the problem? If not, do you have IO::Uncompress::Gunzip installed? Does installing that solve the problem?

# perl -MIO::Uncompress::Gunzip -e1 Compress::Raw::Zlib version 2.033 required--this is only version 2.03 at /usr/share/perl5/core_perl/IO/Uncompress/RawInflate.pm line 8. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/perl5/core_perl/IO/Uncompress/RawInflate.pm line 8. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/perl5/core_perl/IO/Uncompress/Gunzip.pm line 12. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/perl5/core_perl/IO/Uncompress/Gunzip.pm line 12. Compilation failed in require. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted. If I re-install it with CPAN, now cpan -i WWW::Scripter works.

Oh good! I think something was wrong with your IO::Uncompress::Gunzip installation, but it’s good that it all works now.
