Subject: .git dir in tarball
Not really a bug, just to notice that the cpan tarball contains the .git directory.

This appears to be better in 0.10/11/12. I believe it dates from an unfortunate dalliance with one of the Module::Install modules that auto-manages your MANIFEST.
