Subject: META.yml not utf8
Date: Tue, 15 Feb 2011 08:04:21 +1100
To: bug-Devel-SimpleTrace [...] rt.cpan.org
From: Kevin Ryde <user42 [...] zip.com.au>
In Devel-SimpleTrace 0.07 the YAML module 0.71 doesn't like the META.yml file. Eg. perl -MYAML -e 'YAML::LoadFile("META.yml")' gives utf8 "\xE9" does not map to Unicode at /usr/share/perl5/YAML.pm line 77, <$IN> chunk 1. Malformed UTF-8 character (fatal) at /usr/share/perl5/YAML/Loader.pm line 38, <$IN> line 1. I struck this when the debian dh-make-perl program got an error trying to read the META.yml info. I expect the e-acute in your name should be utf8, not latin1. The file is generated by Module::Build is it? I suppose that'll be where the blame lies, or need for a new enough version ... -- Das machinen ist nicht fer gefingerpoken.

Should be fixed with the release 0.08, on its way to the CPAN. Thanks for the report. -- Sébastien Aperghis-Tramoni Close the world, txEn eht nepO.
