Subject: Search for Berkeley DB on NFS and in .snapshot ?
The search for Berkeley DB appears to run in /usr and $HOME and /opt. My $HOME is not only NFS-mounted, but also uses rsnapshot to save hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly backups in ~/.snapshot. This is TBs of data and prevents the search for Berkeley DB from finishing in a reasonable amount of time. I acknowledge that this is not necessarily a bug, but it does prevent me from being able to install the package. I see from the Makefile.PL that many paths are already filtered. It might not be the best idea to filter external file systems (many of our binaries are also from NFS file systems), but how about filtering hidden directories, especially from $HOME ?
I agree, filtering the hidden directories makes sense. I will add it to the next build. Probably in a day or two. Thanks for the input. Brian Kelly
