Subject: Capture::Tiny test don't pass inside CPAN but pass when doing look
Hi, I've reported about Capture::Tiny v0.09 not passing tests (please take a look at CPAN testers report [1] ) but I've discovered something else. When trying to install from inside CPAN the output differs when inside CPAN and running 'install Capture::Tiny' (see file cpan.output) and when running 'look Capture::Tiny' and then 'PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl "- MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t' (see file look.output). In the former the tests fail but in the later the tests end successfully [1] http://www.cpantesters.org/cpan/report/d0902258-2f63-11e0-b83c- ab87de821682

Thank you for the bug report. The tests in question check whether file handles are leaking -- they don't impact functionality, but they are a sign that things are not working as expected. These failures seem specific to OS X version 7.9.0 and do not appear for other versions of OS X. It's possible that there is a bug fix involving filehandles in OS X itself. The difference between the run within CPAN and outside it is interesting, but at this point, I'm going to blame OS X and I don't see a fix other than skipping those test on OS X 7.9.0. And, frankly, I'm not sure i that's a good idea or not given that it does signal to the user that something strange is happening. -- David

Thanks a lot. I'll install it anyway. -- Víctor A. Rodríguez (http://www.bit-man.com.ar) El bit Fantasma (Bit-Man) Programming: love it or leave it
