"* * * 1. 2. 3." is parsed and rendered as a deeply nested set
of lists. This seems in violation of the markdown syntax
description, which says:
Show quoted text
> List markers typically start at the left margin, but may be indented by
> up to three spaces.
In my example, only the first asterisk meets that description.
The motivating case for this bug report is here:
http://ikiwiki.info/bugs/enumerations_of_dates_not_formatted_correctly/
The user entered this, and did not expect it to be treated as a list
of 1-element lists:
* 1. January
* 27. March
* 99. November
* 42. April
And as a result, the user was confused why the html rendered as:
* 1. January
* 1. March
* 1. November
* 1. April
