As pointed out in an earlier ticket, the x_authority metadata is actually the important bit. the $AUTHORITY global in individual pm files is nice for certain kinds of run-time introspection, but doesn't have any particular purpose as x_authority does. I'd like to ship dists making use of x_authority to hint the indexer, but I don't want to rewrite any of the contents of the libraries in the dists. Please consider making file munging to add $AUTHORITY optional.

Thanks again for the idea! I agree with you, v1.002 heading it's way to CPAN adds this functionality. It's the "do_munging" attr and it defaults to true just to spite you ;) -- ~Apocalypse
