Subject: Add more utilities
Hi Andrew, when being already here, just let me leave a wish :) In a project I need a converter from LaTeX to plain text (usually 7-bit ASCII, but ISO-8859-1 was ok, too). Finally I found a solution using tex4ht and w3m (with some sed between both tools to kick out unicode). Further, since TeXlive 2010, luatex is included in the distribution. luatex is an equivalent to pdftex (and has similar aliases) and provides some tex sugar. Best regards, Jens

Future work involves modularizing this code. It may take a while to get done but work is underway.

I am rejecting this and closing it at present. The key reason for the rejection is that I plan to work on a new version of LaTeX::Driver which will be more modular. For backwards-compatibility reasons this will include the current utilities but the result should be something that third parties can plug into.
